It has been suggested that Dembele is ready to leave Celtic, and Crystal Palace are said to be favourites to land him ahead of several Premier League rivals.

Moussa Dembele of Celtic arrives at the stadium prior to the Scottish Premier League match between Celtic and Ranger at Celtic Park on December 30, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Crystal Palace are favourites to sign Celtic striker Moussa Dembele, according to the Daily Mirror [live blog entry 05:15].

Dembele was an unused substitute as Celtic beat Partick Thistle on Tuesday night, less than 24 hours after Chris Davies, the Bhoys’ number two, told the Scottish Sun there is “an acceptance that maybe Moussa feels it is the right time for him to move on”.

And the Daily Mirror reports that despite past interest from Brighton – the Scottish Sun also credits Everton and Stoke City with interest – Palace are now ‘leading the chase’.

The Eagles are desperately short of available strikers, with Connor Wickham continuing to battle his way back from a long-term lay-off.

Meanwhile, their other prominent centre forward Christian Benteke, has scored once in 18 matches this season.

And Dembele, who has scored 40 goals in 70 games for Celtic, could be a welcome addition for Palace.

The former Fulham striker is reported to have cost the Bhoys around £500,000 18 months ago, although speaking to the Scottish Sun earlier this month, Davies warned that £20 million would not be enough to prise him away now.
