According to a report in the Mirror, Crystal Palace are keen on Reading youngster Jake Cooper.
The Eagles are intent on strengthening their defence this summer as the club seek a long-term replacement for the ageing Damien Delaney while looking to retain the services of Scott Dann.
Cooper, a Reading academy graduate, came through the club’s youth teams before making his senior debut for the first-team in the opening month of the 2014/15 campaign.

Standing at 6ft 4inch, the 21-year-old has since become a permanent feature in the Royals’ senior squad and this past season made an impressive 21 Championship starts, averaging 7.8 clearances per match.
Cooper is strong in the tackle, wins his fair share of aerial duels and comfortable in possession.
Palace are looking to strengthen their back-line this season and the report names Brighton and Hove Albion’s Lewis Dunk as their number one target, yet Cooper could be seen as a long-term option.
Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew
Alan Pardew is said to be a fan of the player, and his physical attributes and style of play seemingly fit the mould in terms of which type of centre-back the Palace boss is keen on signing.
Cooper, an England U20 international, has a contract at the Madejski Stadium until the summer of 2018.
