Crystal Palace have reportedly joined Watford in the race for the Newcastle United man.
The Eagles have made a late play to sign Newcastle-owned goalkeeper Tim Krul, according to the Mirror, joining Watford in the race for his signature.
The Dutchman is currently on loan with Eredivisie side Ajax, but has failed to make a first-team appearance for the club since his summer switch, after struggling to establish himself at the Amsterdam Arena, following his serious injury last term.

The report from the Mirror claim that Watford are still in pole position to sign the 28-year-old, but Palace have registered their interest in bringing him to Selhurst Park.
And Newcastle are desperate for the goalkeeper to join an English club for the remainder of the season, to ensure that he gets some regular first-team action under his belt – something that he is far from assured of in Holland.

It is unclear what kind of role Krul would have at Palace, if a move to south London came to fruition, with Wayne Hennessey, Steve Mandanda and Julian Speroni already on their books.

The latter two names mentioned are currently injured though, so Krul could be a welcome addition to Sam Allardyce’s squad.
