Crystal Palace are the latest club to enter the race for Leeds United and Middlesbrough target Kyle Bartley.

According to a report from The Sun, Crystal Palace have joined the likes of Leeds and Middlesbrough in the race to sign Swansea City centre-back Kyle Bartley.

The Sun reports that the Eagles have earmarked the 26-year-old as a potential replacement for former loanee Mamadou Sakho – and are hoping that the fact that his contract has one year left to run could enable him to move in a cut-price deal this summer.

However, the Eagles face plenty of competition for Bartley, which is unsurprisingly given how his stock rose considerably during his year-long loan spell in the Championship with Leeds.

The Whites are one of the sides interested in signing the former Arsenal trainee, while Garry Monk – the head coach who brought him to Leeds – would now like to bring him to his new club Boro, and The Sun adds that Palace’s Premier League rivals’ Stoke City are also in the running for his signature.

The Sun adds that Leeds appear to be near the back of the queue currently due to the presence of the top flight sides in the race.

But given how well he did at Elland Road last term, it would hardly be a surprise if Swansea include the centre-back in their plans for the coming season, and thus, it still takes a substantial offer to make a deal happen even if he does have just one year on his contract.
