Crystal Palace are currently looking for a new manager following Sam Allardyce’s surprise departure at the end of this past season.

A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that Crystal Palace have included Paulo Sousa on their list of potential targets as they continue to look for Sam Allardyce’s successor.
The Eagles are currently without a manager following Allardyce’s surprise departure at the end of this past season, and have, perhaps unsurprisingly, earmarked the likes of former Leeds boss Garry Monk and Burnley chief Sean Dyche as potential candidates for the post, according to the Mirror.

Slightly more surprising however, is the Mirror’s suggestion that Sousa is a name that is under consideration following his recent exit from Serie A side Fiorentina.
Sousa enjoyed a fairly promising time in Italy, guiding Viola to a fifth and eighth place finish in the top flight, but his managerial spells in England have been a lot more underwhelming.
Former Leeds United manager Garry Monk is also being considered
He managed less than 30 games in charge of both Queens Park Rangers and Leicester City, but did enjoy some success with Swansea, helping them finish seventh in the Championship.
Having never managed in the Premier League, it may perhaps be a surprise if Sousa was the board’s preferred candidate at this stage, but if Dyche makes it clear that he wants to stay at Burnley and Monk lands a job elsewhere, perhaps it would not be out of the question to suggest that Sousa may be the Eagles’ manager next season.
