Crystal Palace are keen to beat Arsenal and AC Milan to the signature of highly-rated Brondby midfielder Anis Ben Slimane this summer, according to reports from BT.

The Eagles currently have the second-oldest squad in the Premier League – and that is not including 72-year-old manager Roy Hodgson.

So, with so many of Palace’s first-team stars now on the wrong side of 30, it is no surprise that the London-based outfit are making a conscious effort to add some exuberance to all the experience at Selhurst Park.

Teen sensation Scott Banks has already joined from Dundee United, while Jay Rich-Baghuelou is already captaining the club at youth level having arrived from non-league Woking in January.

And according to claims in Scandinavia, a 19-year-old dynamo with that perfect blend of technique and tenacity could be on his way to the English capital too.

BT reports that Ben Slimane has caught the eye of Italian giants AC Milan but it is Crystal Palace who have shown the most interest in a young man who Brondby are determined to tie down to a new long-term contract.

The same publication reported back in March that Arsenal were interested in making Slimane the latest teen talent to join Edu’s Emirates revolution, with a £4 million fee required to add the ball-playing midfielder to Mikel Arteta’s kindergarted crop.
