According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace are considering Roma boss Paulo Fonseca as their next manager.
Roy Hodgson’s contract with Palace ends this summer, and there is a strong chance that the Eagles move on and look for a younger manager.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche is thought to be in the running, as are Swansea’s Steve Cooper and ex-Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.
Yet if Palace look abroad, their new target could be Fonseca with his future at Roma somewhat unclear.
Il Messaggero report that Roma could replace Fonseca this summer, with Maurizio Sarri one of their targets if they make a change.
That would free up Fonseca for Palace, some three years after Everton wanted him to replace Sam Allardyce before going for Marco Silva.
Fonseca may only be 48, but he has had 10 managerial jobs, particularly excelling with Shakhtar Donetsk, where he won 103 of his 139 games in charge.
The Mozambique-born boss hasn’t even fared all that badly at Roma, winning 54% of his games with the club, meaning he could be an exciting appointment for the Eagles.
