According to The Guardian, Crystal Palace are interested in signing Aston Villa striker Rudy Gestede during next month’s transfer window.
The Eagles are finding the net regularly right now as they’ve racked up 27 goals in just 15 games, but they’re also leaking goals at the other end having let in 29 goals.

Whilst it’s claimed that manager Alan Pardew wants to sign Tottenham left back Ben Davies in January to aid his defence, it’s also believed that he is targeting another striker.
The Guardian report that Palace want to bring in Aston Villa striker Rudy Gestede in January, with midfielder Jordon Mutch potentially on the table as a makeweight in any deal.

Gestede, 28, hit five Premier League goals last season as Villa were relegated to the Championship, and whilst he’s hit four goals in the Championship this term, he’s stuck behind summer signing Jonathan Kodjia in the Villa Park pecking order.
The Benin international – who hit 35 goals in 73 games for Blackburn Rovers – may look to leave Villa in January in search of more first-team football, with Palace seemingly keen having been told that he could be available next month.
Connor Wickham is out for the rest of the season through injury, whilst Loic Remy, currently on loan from Chelsea, is also out of action, leaving Pardew short of options behind Christian Benteke in attack.
Gestede fits the mould of what Palace would want behind Benteke, as he possesses similar attributes; great height, strength and aerial ability, and with Wilfried Zaha thriving right now, Gestede could give Palace another goal threat to feast on crosses into the box.
