According to The Athletic, Crystal Palace are interested in signing Nottingham Forest target Djibril Sow from Eintracht Frankfurt.
What’s the story?
Well, it was said that Nottingham Forest offered the Switzerland international a contract worth £100,000-a-week just a matter of days ago.
However, Crystal Palace are now interested in bringing Sow to Selhurst Park.
The Athletic believe Eintracht Frankfurt’s No.8 rejected a move to Nottingham Forest as he wanted to stay in Germany and play Champions League football with the Bundesliga side, who qualified after winning the Europa League last season.
Despite that, it is also said that the south Londoners could revisit their interest in January, when they would have more chance of success in their pursuit of Sow.
The Athletic add that it would take a bid in the region of £17.25m – £21.5m to lure the 25-year-old away from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Crystal Palace would appear to have those funds set aside for a midfielder – according to The Times, the Eagles recently submitted a £27m bid for Conor Gallagher.
Crystal Palace could turn to another Nottingham Forest target
If it really is too late to bring Sow to south London, then Crystal Palace could pursue a move to sign Houssem Aouar from Lyon.
RMC Sport believe the France international is available ahead of the 11pm deadline, and the Eagles are the side most likely to submit an offer to the Ligue 1 outfit.
It comes after Nottingham Forest agreed personal terms with Aouar, but supposedly shocked Lyon by making a £10m bid spread across six payments.

Aside from Sow and Aouar, Crystal Palace are in talks with Peterborough over a deal for Ronnie Edwards, who has shone at centre-back for the League One side in recent times.
The south Londoners have submitted a bid worth £4m for the 19-year-old.
Keep an eye on developments, as anything could happen before the 11pm deadline.
