The 27-year-old suffered an injury in just his second league game for the Eagles.
Crystal Palace’s James Tomkins celebrates scoring against Stoke
Crystal Palace appear to have suffered a major injury blow after the London Evening Standard reported that James Tomkins left Selhurst Park on crutches following their emphatic win over Stoke City.
The summer signing was making his first start for the Eagles on Sunday, and appeared set to enjoy the perfect afternoon when he opened the scoring inside the first 10 minutes.

However, he had to be replaced at the break by Damien Delaney, and the London Evening Standard is now reporting that he suffered a knee injury during the first-half.
Having spent £10m on the centre-back during the recent window (via BBC Sport), Alan Pardew will be desperately hoping that the fact that he had to leave the ground on crutches is more of a precautionary measure, rather than an indication that the injury is potentially serious.

Palace’s defensive record has been extremely impressive this season – they have conceded just five goals in five league games – but they will arguably need as many options available as possible if they hope to maintain that kind of form.
And with the Eagles still seeking their first clean sheet in the top flight, Pardew will want Tomkins back fit as soon as possible to help them rectify that statistic.
