Volkan Sen has endured a turbulent two years at Fenerbahce and could be offered a route to the Premier League by Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace may not have a manager in place ahead of the 2017/18 season following the sudden departure of Sam Allardyce but that does not mean The Eagles are to take time out of the transfer market.

According to Goal, Palace are closing in on their first signing of the summer with Turkish giants Fenerbahce likely to accept their impending £3 million bid for winger Volkan Sen.

Fener are under major pressure from Financial Fair Play and had their European squad limited to just 22 players last season as punishment for breaching regulations, as reported by ESPN.

And Goal reports that they will be forced to sell before they can reinvest in a squad which finished a distant third behind runaway champions Besitkas in the Super Lig in 2016/17.

It appears, therefore, that Sen will be the first out the door. The 29-year-old is understood to have already agreed personal terms with Palace, meaning he will surely move to Selhurst Park when an agreement with his current club is struck.

Renowned for his pace and dribbling ability, Sen will offer the new Palace boss further quality in wide positions with Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend also in the club’s roster.

And the former Bursaspor player would surely jump at the chance to continue his career elsewhere. After all, his two years with Fenerbahce have been far from smooth with supporters turning on his for his lack of end product.

In 51 league games, Sen has scored just five goals, all coming in the 2015/16 season.

Furthermore, Sen was banned for five months after shoving a referee during a Europa League clash with Braga in March 2016.

Palace wil be hoping the same mistakes don’t follow him to the Premier League.
