Everton are poised to appoint Sam Allardyce as their manager.

According to Sky Sports, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has sanctioned Everton’s move for Sam Allardyce, which will cost the Toffees £2million.
Everton sacked manager Ronald Koeman in October after a disastrous opening to the season, with the Dutchman losing his job after a 5-2 home defeat to Arsenal.
However, over a month on from Koeman’s exit, Everton are still yet to find a replacement, with a bid for Watford boss Marco Silva falling short earlier this month.

The Everton board appear to have been jolted into life after 5-1 and 4-1 defeats to Atalanta and Southampton respectively, and Sky Sports report that a deal for Sam Allardyce is set for completion.
Allardyce, 63, has been out of work since leaving Crystal Palace at the end of last season, and looks set to make a return to the Premier League with the Toffees, as talks have allegedly progressed in recent days.
The report claims that Crystal Palace owner Steve Parish has sanctioned the deal, given that Palace were entitled to compensation if Allardyce moved on within a year of his Selhurst Park exit – and the Eagles will receive around £2million for his services.

Everton must now hope that Allardyce is the man to not only save them from relegation this season – as he has done with so many teams over the course of his career – but also help them progress next season too.
With Craig Shakespeare already lined up as Allardyce’s assistant, Everton appear to have found their man, though caretaker David Unsworth will remain in charge for tonight’s game against West Ham United.
