Crystal Palace have been going through an alarming slide over the last couple of months.

A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that the Crystal Palace hierarchy plan to give Alan Pardew at least one more game before fully considering his future, but do plan to hold talks with the boss in the coming days.

The Eagles began the campaign fairly brightly, winning three of their first six Premier League games. However, they now find themselves in trouble.

The dramatic 5-4 defeat at bottom side Swansea at the weekend was their sixth loss in a row and has left them one place outside of the relegation zone, with only goal difference keeping them above Hull City.

And while the Mirror suggests that the Crystal Palace board do not currently appear to be considering a change, they do want to meet with Pardew before their game with Southampton this weekend and do want to see that he has the answers regarding how the side are going to turn their fortunes around.

Should the Eagles board remain willing to give Pardew some more time – as the Mirror suggests they will – he will surely know that it is vital that they come out of their next two games with a good amount of points.

After their clash against the Saints, Crystal Palace face Hull in what could prove to be a crucial game down the bottom end of the table. And should they fail to beat the Tigers, the discontent amongst the supporters may perhaps become too loud for the board to ignore.
