Crystal Palace are looking to further strengthen their squad this summer.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace have made a £6.5million bid for Genoa midfielder Tomas Rincon.
The Eagles have made some impressive signings this summer, including Andros Townsend, Christian Benteke and James Tomkins, but manager Alan Pardew is not stopping there and could have a busy couple of days getting another few deals over the line.
With Mile Jedinak leaving Palace for Aston Villa earlier this month Rincon would be the perfect replacement for the Australia international.
The Genoa player has racked up 68 appearances for the Serie A side, scoring three goals and providing 10 assists in the process.
He previously featured 128 times for German club Hamburg, and with a contract that runs out in 2018 he could be something of a bargain buy if a deal can be concluded before Wednesday’s deadline.
Although predominantly a defensive midfielder, the 28-year-old can also operate on the right side or as a full-back if required.
There is no news yet as to whether Genoa will accept Palace’s offer for the Venezuela international but with time running out this summer they can expect a response sooner rather than later.
