Roy Hodgson is set to be offered a new deal to continue as Crystal Palace boss.

The former England boss’ current deal at Selhurst Park ends at the end of this season and Palace are desperate to keep hold of him beyond that period. The Eagles have gotten off to an impressive start to the season and are currently sixth in the league, just five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
Hodgson has transformed Palace into a solid Premier League side which was unlikely to have happened when he took over in September 2017. The Eagles lost each of their first seven games that season and were destined for relegation but the manager’s quality and experience helped them finish well above the relegation places in 11th.
The 72-year-old’s underwhelming time as England boss often makes people forget about how good he actually is. Palace are capable of beating any team in the Premier League now and they have proven it with victories over the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal since Hodgson took over.

Palace have a golden opportunity of breaking into the top half of the Premier League this season but there is still a long way to go.
However, irrespective of how the season unfolds, keeping hold of Hodgson has to be Palace’s number one priority and credit to them for starting the negotiations well before his contract actually ends.
