The Mail claim Patrick Vieira and Crystal Palace will beat Tottenham to the signing of Derby talent Malcolm Ebiowei – and a deal will be done by the close of play on Friday. Ebiowei has impressed under Wayne Rooney.
England youth international Ebiowei joined Derby from Rangers in September 2021. A player that came through the ranks at Arsenal before moving to Rangers in 2020. Now, Vieira has moved quickest.

It comes after an excellent 2021-22 campaign in which he started in Derby’s Under-18 side – scoring seven goals in seven Under-18 Premier League games. He was promoted to the 23’s, and then to the first team.
With the season now at a close, Ebiowei played 16 times for Derby’s senior side – having a hand in three goals. But with his contract expiring next week, Palace have swooped. The Mail say they have done ahead of Spurs.
Palace beat Tottenham to signing of Ebiowei
Ebiowei is a top talent. A player that can play on either flank and as a striker. Still only 18, he is a proper talent and one that has an enormous future – even despite changing his clubs quite a lot already.
Arsenal, Rangers – even a trial at West Ham before joining Derby. But it is with the Rams that he has got himself the chance he craved. Now, he joins Palace – a side that have often used the Championship to bring in talent.
He, and Palace, will be hoping he can be the next example of Michael Olise and Ebere Eze coming from England’s second tier to impress at Selhurst Park. He is some way off those two, but he will get his chance.
