Bournemouth and Hull City also reportedly made enquiries for the 31-year-old American on transfer deadline day.

Crystal Palace and Sunderland both pursued a deal for Stoke City defender Geoff Cameron during the closing stages of the summer transfer window, according to Pro Soccer Talk.
Bournemouth and Hull City were also said to have enquired about the 31-year-old US international’s availability during the final hours of deadline day, but Stoke reportedly knocked back any interest.
The Potters did manage to bring in Dutch centre-back Bruno Martins Indi from Porto on a season-long loan before the window closed, but the earlier departure of Philipp Wollscheid to Wolfsburg meant that there was no chance of the 46-times capped American being allowed to leave the Bet365 Stadium.

Cameron, who still has two years left on his current contract, joined Stoke from MLS side Houston Dynamo in the summer of 2012 for a reported £2.2 million fee and has since made 146 total appearances for the club, scoring two goals in the process.
The versatile Rhode Island native spent most of his first three seasons in England switching between right-back and defensive midfield, but last term saw him get the chance to feature in his favoured centre-back role for an extended run of games over the first half of the campaign.

In the meantime, he has also established himself as a regular starter in the heart of the USA’s defence alongside John Brooks and was one of the team’s star performers during their run to the Copa America Centenario semi-finals this past summer.
His impressive displays during the tournament seemingly attracted plenty of interest from Stoke’s Premier League rivals, but the former MLS star still appears to be an important part of manager Mark Hughes’ plans despite starting just one of the club’s first three top-flight games this season.
