Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest reportedly want goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist.
According to the Daily Record, Dundee United want to tie goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist down to a new contract, with Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest interested.
The Terrors suffered a major blow over the weekend, as they lost on penalties to St Mirren in their playoff clash, meaning they’re facing yet another year in the second division.
That means Robbie Neilson will face up to potentially losing key players, with prolific loanee Pavol Safranko unlikely to stay, and goalkeeper Siegrist now wanted.
The Daily Record (28/05, p47) report that United want to get Siegrist down to a new contract, given that he has just 12 months left on his deal at Tannadice.
It’s claimed that Crystal Palace, Hull City and Nottingham Forest all watched Siegrist in action this weekend, and could move to sign him this summer.
Forest boss O’Neill already knows Siegrist, having worked with him at Aston Villa, and that may just give Forest a small boost in the pursuit.
The 27-year-old, standing at 6ft 5in tall, joined Dundee United from Vaduz last summer, and had loan spells with Burton Albion, Cambridge United, Solihull Moors and Wycombe Wanderers during his time with Villa.
Palace, Hull and Forest may see Siegrist as a potential bargain signing this summer given his contract situation, and given the blow of being stuck in the Scottish second tier for another year.
