A date has been set for Andy Carroll’s long awaited West Ham United comeback and it could be bad news for Tottenham Hotspur.

The Hammers slipped to their sixth defeat from 10 Premier League games when they lost 2-0 to Everton last time out.

The defeat was made all the more frustrating by the fact the Hammers could not make their first half dominance pay at Goodison Park with a series of missed chances.

After the game pundits, supporters and Bilic alike remarked how the East Londoners were ‘crying out’ for a striker.

And they may get their wish in time to face fierce rivals Spurs at White Hart Lane on November 19, the date set for Andy Carroll’s latest comeback from injury.

According to the Mirror, Carroll will be ready to return for the big London derby which will be a huge boost given that Bilic’s strikers are yet to register a single goal between them more than a quarter of the way through the season.

The club’s supporters are accustomed to seeing Carroll out injured, the former Liverpool and Newcastle United man having played just 81 games in 4 and a half years in East London.

Supporters were initially told Carroll’s latest injury – suffered in the Europa League qualifying game at Astra in July – would keep him out for between four to six weeks.

So fans have been left bemused by a lack of progress in his recovery over three months on.

The news has left Bilic excited at the prospect of having the target man back in his side.

“I don’t hide it, I love Andy Carroll,” Bilic told the Mirror.

“Every time he has started or come off of the bench, he has been brilliant for us.

“It’s virtually impossible to mark him in the box and even outside the box he is brilliant also.”
