Leeds United are closer to getting rid of the 27-year-old.

Serie B side Cremonese have joined the race for Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci and have made contact with the player, according to Cuoregrigiorosso.com.

The 27-year-old is heavily expected to Leeds this summer after head coach Thomas Christiansen made it clear that he does not need him.

Giuseppe, who was jeered by United fans at a pre-season friendly last week, was in touch with PAOK Salonika recently, according to Calciomercato.

But another Italian publication, Cuoregrigiorosso.com, claims that Cremonese have joined the race for the centre-back – who spent last season at Empoli and has been also linked to Cagliari and Bologna – and have already been in touch with him.

It was suggested that Christiansen might hang on to Bellusci, given he is only one of three centre-backs at the club, but his relationship with the fanbase seems to be beyond repair.

The sooner Bellusci leaves, the better for all parties it seems.
