According to the Daily Record, Craig Gordon is now a free agent after his Celtic contract expired on Monday.

The Bhoys announced departures last weekend, with Jonny Hayes and Jozo Simunovic released at the end of their contracts.

Calvin Miller is on the move too, and it looks like goalkeeper Gordon will be on the hunt for a new club too after his deal expired.

It’s claimed that Gordon’s contract ended on Monday, though Celtic have yet to confirm his departure.

Contracts usually run until June 30th, but Gordon’s seemingly ended on June 1st. Celtic have yet to confirm his exit, which could mean one of two things.

Celtic may want to give Gordon a big send-off, given how he battled back from a major knee injury to play a key part in the Bhoys’ run of titles.

There is of course a chance that Celtic end up wanting to keep Gordon at Parkhead, given that they stopped him from leaving for Hearts in January.

So, could Gordon head back there now? Well, his former club have been relegated to the second tier, which could be a real problem.

Hearts may not have the cash to bring Gordon back to Tynecastle, and would be relying on the 37-year-old wanting to help his former side.

That move may be possible, but Gordon will likely have a number of suitors having become a free agent.
