Italian outlet CMW claim that Antonio Conte wants a reunion with Inter Milan star Marcelo Brozovic at Tottenham in January – but he has recently signed a new deal with the Nerrazzuri, and subsequently, Inter want a huge transfer fee.
Brozovic, 29, is just one game shy of clocking up a huge 300 appearances for Inter. Joining the club initially on loan from Dinamo Zagreb, he is approaching eight years at the San Siro. He continues to be a mainstay in the starting XI.
Indeed, he was crucial to Conte’s Inter that won the Scudetto in 2020-21. Now, Conte is said to want a reunion at Tottenham in the next transfer market. But Brozovic signed a new deal towards the end of last season, until June 2026.
Because of the new deal, Inter have every chance of keeping him – and can request whatever kind of fee they want for Brozovic. They have informed Tottenham that they will have to pay north of £52million to sign the 76-time Croatia ace.
Spurs, though, may find competition from Liverpool. CMW said in the summer that Liverpool wanted to sign Brozovic and could get him in a swap for Naby Keita or Roberto Firmino. They signed Arthur, but Anfield interest could remain.

Do Tottenham really need him? While Saturday’s 3-1 loss was a poor result, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been in stunning form this season. Rodrigo Bentancur has been consistently good. The club signed Yves Bissouma in the summer.
Oliver Skipp has signed a new deal and that midfield competition, given Conte using a 3-4-3 system, has seen Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele leave on loan. There is hardly the required room for Spurs to sign another midfielder.
However, Skipp may feel that he needs game time and as things stand, he will struggle to get that. Perhaps, if Skipp does go out on loan in the next couple of windows, Spurs may feel a gap could open for a signing like Brozovic.
