Antonio Conte reportedly included Jack Clarke in his latest Tottenham Hotspur training session.
Spurs are gearing up for a visit of Leeds United in North London on Sunday.
And Football London has reported that the 20-year-old winger was included by Conte at Hotspur Way.
Clarke joined Tottenham for £10 million under Mauricio Pochettino but it’s been a disastrous spell so far.
Since arriving at the Lilywhites, the young attacker, who’s had three loans in the Championship, hasn’t come close to making his Premier League debut.
Will Clarke face Leeds?
In a word, no.
He would love for his top-flight debut to come against Marcelo Bielsa’s side, considering he left Elland Road to join Tottenham.
But the truth is that Clarke is nowhere near to Conte’s plans, despite a promotion to senior training.
You could actually argue that he quit Leeds too soon.
Under Bielsa, the Thorp Arch gem was genuinely developing at a scary rate after breaking into the senior squad at 17.
But in the two-and-a-half years since, there’s been very little progress.
He has played in the Europa Conference League this season and may get further opportunities in this competition.
But unless he makes a big statement, Conte will have no choice but to do like Nuno Espirito Santo and Jose Mourinho did and overlook him.
