Antonio Conte has reportedly asked Tottenham Hotspur to sign Franck Kessie.

As things stand, the 24-year-old midfielder could be one of the biggest bargains of next summer’s transfer window.

That’s because Kessie looks set to leave AC Milan on a free transfer in June when his contract expires.

Conte’s Inter Milan side came up against the Ivory Coast international last season and now the Italian coach has requested for him to be signed at Tottenham.

That is according to Italian journalist Rudy Galleti, who revealed to Calciomercato’s Twitch channel that not only has the Spurs boss specifically asked for Kessie, but that North London is, as of now, his most likely destination.

ASAP

It isn’t really known at the moment whether Tottenham are eyeing up a cut-price deal in January or a Bosman move next summer.

But really, Conte needs somebody of Kessie’s qualities as soon as possible and if a deal can be done in the winter, Spurs could benefit in a big way.

Having scored 14 times for Milan last season, Kessie – who cost £24 million in 2017 – brings a goal threat that Conte doesn’t have in any midfielder really.

Well, Dele Alli is more than capable of finding the net, but the England international has been in a major funk these past two or three years and whether Conte can get the best out of him remains to be seen.
