Antonio Conte has already told Daniel Levy that he wants Harry Kane to stay at Tottenham Hotspur if he is to become the club’s next manager, the Times report.
Tottenham seem to have made Conte their first choice to take over from Jose Mourinho and are now in talks with the Italian.
Conte is said to want the job, although there are conditions that he wants met.
The 51-year-old will apparently only take on the role if Tottenham allow him to keep Kane.
Problem for Kane?
Kane has made suggestions that he would like to leave Spurs this summer, in pursuit of silverware.
However, Tottenham have shown no desire to sell him as yet, and Conte’s demands could make it even more difficult for Kane to leave.
Conte’s desire to keep the striker around also is very much understandable.

If Tottenham are to sell Kane then the job could well be very much a poisoned chalice.
It would be very difficult for any manager to succeed at Spurs immediately after losing their best player, regardless of how much money they were given to re-invest after his sale.
And if Conte does arrive then it may be good news for Spurs fans, who were hoping for Kane to stick around.
