A UK-based consortium is reportedly interested in buying Aston Villa from Tony Xia.

Xia is ready to sell the club after they failed to achieve promotion back to the Premier League this season, losing 1-0 to Fulham in the Championship playoff final.

The Chinese billionaire bought Villa from Randy Lerner in 2016 for £60m following their relegation from the England’s top flight.
A group, headed by former agent Matt Southall and including ex-Blackburn Rovers director of football and operations Paul Senior, believe they can purchase the Villans if they match the price Xia paid two years ago.

However, that is not what the Daily Star is reporting, with the newspaper claiming that the owner actually values the club at £100m.
The consortium have made attempts to buy two other teams in the second tier of English football over the past six months.
