Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has rejected a move to Leeds United in favour of signing for Crystal Palace.

That’s according to TEAMtalk, who claim that Gallagher has picked the Eagles as his next destination.

Gallagher spent last term on loan at West Bromwich Albion but couldn’t help the Baggies stay up, and is now back at Chelsea.

The 21-year-old won’t be near Thomas Tuchel’s first team though, and is instead moving from West London to South London for another loan move.

This will be Gallagher’s fourth loan spell away from Chelsea, having also had spells at Charlton Athletic and Swansea City.

Leeds were very keen to sign Gallagher on loan for the season, with Marcelo Bielsa believing he would provide more energy in the Elland Road engine room.

Leeds did agree terms, but Palace swooped in with a late offer of their own and have allegedly won the race.

Palace have already signed one Chelsea youngster this summer by adding defender Marc Guehi on a permanent basis, and Gallagher’s loan means they can now reunite.

This is obviously a blow for Leeds, and Victor Orta will have to go back to the drawing board in search of a new midfielder.
