Leeds United remain in discussions with Marcelo Bielsa.
Saudi Arabia reportedly failed with an attempt to hire Leeds United target Marcelo Bielsa.
The offer would have involved leading the team at this month’s World Cup.
Previous Leeds boss Paul Heckingbottom was fired last Friday.
Le10Sport’s report was published this evening (5/6) although it does not specify when Saudi Arabia made the offer, so it is unclear if he turned the offer down because of Leeds, or simply because he did not like the opportunity.
Bielsa has previously managed Argentina and Chile at World Cup finals.
What is positive for Leeds fans, is that Bielsa is not necessarily motivated by money, or he would have taken the job as easy money for a summer’s work – and possibly with Saudi Arabia’s unfancied squad, just three matches.
This means if another club does make a late pitch to try and hijack Leeds’ move for Bielsa, he will consider the sporting project first, and Leeds won’t have to worry about simply being outbid.
