Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers strikers Ross McCormack and Joe Mason are being eyed by the Major League Soccer side.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Major League Soccer side Colorado Rapids are considering potential moves for Ross McCormack and Joe Mason as they look to bolster their goalscoring options.

Colorado endured a miserable campaign last year and have already been busy recruiting players ahead of the new season, with Britain proving to be a market that they have used to strengthen their squad.

They have already brought Danny Wilson in from Rangers and Jack Price from Wolves this year, and it appears that they are now looking at a potential deal involving Price’s old teammate at Molineux.

According to the Mail, the Rapids are interested in a 12-month loan deal for Mason, while Villa striker McCormack is also on their radar ahead of the new season.

Mason made six league appearances during a loan spell with Burton Albion earlier in the campaign, scoring once during his time with the Brewers, while McCormack was fantastic during his loan stint with Melbourne City as he scored 14 times in 17 A-League appearances.

Should Wolves and Villa let their players go?

With Mason struggling to prove prolific, it seems highly unlikely that Nuno Espirito Santo will feel the need to call upon the former Cardiff City man before the end of the campaign with Wolves so far ahead at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, McCormack’s time with Villa has been a major disappointment for all, and they seem to have the options that would allow them to let the 31-year-old leave again. It may however, be worth taking a gamble and letting McCormack stick around just in case Villa’s squad is stretched and Steve Bruce decides that he wants to take a chance on the former Scotland international.
