Sunderland are reportedly keen on Chelsea wonderkid Ethan Ampadu.

According to The Sun, Sunderland are keen to take Chelsea teenager Ethan Ampadu on loan for the rest of the season as Chris Coleman eyes up new signings.
The Black Cats beat Hull City 1-0 on Saturday afternoon thanks to Joel Asoro’s goal, moving them level on points with the Tigers in the battle against relegation to League One.
Manager Coleman will be hoping to keep moving up the Championship table after Saturday’s win, and whilst he may well want new signings to boost his cause, budget restrictions mean he may have to rely on loans.

Now, The Sun report that Sunderland are interested in snapping up Chelsea talent Ethan Ampadu, and are keen to take him on loan for the rest of the season.
Ampadu, 17, signed for Chelsea from Exeter City in 2017, and has already made five first-team appearances for the Blues this season under Antonio Conte.
The defensive midfielder, who can also play at centre back, looks to be destined for a huge future, and Sunderland are thought to be interested in offering him regular first-team football until the summer.

Sunderland boss Coleman handed Ampadu two caps for the Welsh senior team in 2017, and may well hope that a reunion can tempt all parties into a deal this month.
However, given how highly Conte rates Ampadu, the thin nature of Chelsea’s squad and the fact that the Blues remain in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, Sunderland’s move for Ampadu may still be a little ambitious right now.
