Sunderland are expected to be busy in the transfer market this month, with a few Chelsea youngsters on Chris Coleman’s radar.

According to the Sunderland Echo, Chris Coleman has focused his attention on securing a couple of loan deals this month, with Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu standing out as someone who the Welshman is particularly keen on.
The Black Cats currently sit rock bottom of the Championship table, although they are only two points adrift of safety, and it is evidently clear that Coleman needs to add some real quality to his group, if they are to stand any chance whatsoever of avoiding relegation to League One.

The problem for Coleman is that he hardly has any money to spend at the Stadium of Light, so he will have to be extremely thrifty in his player recruitment this month.

Coleman gave the 17-year-old his Wales debut, and will be hoping that the highly competent centre-back can inject some youth and pace into his back-line.
Whether signing someone so young and throwing him in at the deep end of a relegation battle is a wise move remains to be seen, but in all fairness, maybe a young, vibrant player with nothing to lose is exactly the signing that the Wearside outfit need.
