Mohamad Salah will return to Liverpool today after Egypt made the decision to pull the winger out from international duty for their final friendly of the September break, with national team manager Rui Vitoria resting the attacker.

According to the Athletic, the Egypt manager has made the choice to not risk Salah in Egypt’s final international fixture for the month, with Salah now set to be back in Liverpool today after being relieved of duty with his country as a pre-caution on his fitness.

Egypt didn’t qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, meaning that Salah and company have been playing friendlies this month against fellow African nations who also failed to win a spot in Qatar, with the AFCON finalists playing Niger last week with a clash against Liberia taking place tonight.

Although Salah impressed against Niger with the winger scoring a fantastic goal followed by a penalty, the Liverpool superstar won’t be risked this evening, with the 30-year-old already back at Melwood after being relieved of his international duty for the month, with Egypt’s next fixture set to take place in November.

Indeed, Jurgen Klopp will be delighted by the decision from Vitoria to send Salah back to Liverpool early in the international break, with the £35m winger one of the Reds’ most important players and a figure who will push the Anfield side back to their best in the coming weeks.

Salah’s form in the Premier League has been poor, to say the least, yet the forward could soon return to his best after a productive international break with Egypt that saw the attacker bag a brace and return to his club early in order to build on his fitness for the upcoming fixtures with Liverpool.

Liverpool’s form in the Premier League has been mixed, to say the least, and Salah’s poor performances in the division have played their role in the Reds’ unusual start to life in the top-flight this campaign, yet the winger returning from international duty early will be key if the Anfield side are to return to their best.

Klopp would have no doubt used this international break to work on new methods and tactics for his team. And having Salah back a few days early will be huge for the German coach if he is to get Liverpool’s form back to what it has usually been other the past few years.
