Guido Carrillo has hardly looked worth his £19m price-tag since joining Premier League Southampton from Monaco in January 2018.

Southampton flop Guido Carrillo has admirers in Spain, Italy and even Mexico with his St Mary’s career seemingly all but over, according to Sky Sports.
The Saints paid a club-record £19 million to sign an Argentine centre-forward with an impressive goals-to-game ratio at Monaco in January 2018 (BBC).
But while the South Coast club did pull clear of the relegation during Carrillo’s first few months on English shores, his input into the survival bid was rather limited. In ten games in all competitions, the 27-year-old failed to score a single goal.
And a rather underwhelming loan spell at Leganes, which resulted in just five strikes in 25 games under the former Southampton coach Mauricio Pellegrino, has hardly got fans clamouring for Carrillo’s return.

Sky Sports claim that Carrillo still has plenty of clubs in Spain, Italy and Mexico interested in offering him a fresh start, however, while Boca Juniors could make a move to take the former Estudiantes striker back to Argentina.
Goals were still in short supply for Southampton last season but Carrillo has done very little in the last 18 months to suggest that he could be a useful member of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s squad.
