The Wolverhampton Wanderers-linked midfielder Joao Palhinha continues to dream of a move to England, according to Record.
Wolves have been credited with an interest in Palhinha throughout the summer transfer window, and had a deal to sign him all-but agreed at one point, claimed CM Jornal.
But the trail appears to have gone cold in recent weeks.
Last month, The Daily Mirror reported that CSKA Moscow were rivalling Wolves for the player Sporting are asking £15 million for, but that their £9m offer was likely to be instantly dismissed.
And Record reports that the Russian club are now ‘willing to make an effort and present a new proposal’.
It adds that Sporting intend to sell Palhinha, who impressed on loan to Braga last season, in the coming days.
But it is said that the 25-year-old’s desire to continue his career in English football could slow down the process.

Interestingly, another Portuguese midfielder, Bruno Jordao, is being linked with a move away from Wolves.
Jordao will join Famalicao on a season-long loan, according to Record .
And Palhinha, a vastly more experienced player who is around three years the Wolves man’s senior, could prove a decent upgrade.
