Sheffield United will allow a reported target of Burnley, Crystal Palace and Steven Gerrard’s Rangers to leave in January, according to The Star.
Burnley, Palace and Rangers were among the clubs credited with an interest in John Lundstram in the summer transfer window, and all three are mentioned within The Star‘s report.
Lundstram is in the final year of his contract at Sheffield United and has been offered fresh terms, as confirmed by his manager Chris Wilder.
But despite insisting their offer was a take-it-or-leave-it one, the Blades are said to have ‘adjusted some of the details in an attempt to break the impasse’.
And it is claimed that they have ‘reluctantly decided’ to consider any winter bids for the Liverpudlian and self-confessed admirer of the Rangers manager Gerrard, after their ‘gesture of goodwill failed to elicit the desire response’.

Whether or not that will tempt either of Burnley, Crystal Palace or Rangers into action remains to be seen.
Burnley (Dale Stephens) and Rangers (Bongani Zungu) both managed to strengthen in Lundstram’s central midfield position before the transfer deadline, while Jairo Riedewald is enjoying a renaissance at Palace.
Zungu’s deal is only a loan for now, although Rangers have an option to buy the South African outright.
