According to The Northern Echo, Arsenal will make a move for Allan Saint-Maximin if the proposed Newcastle United takeover does not go through.

However, according to the report, the Gunners will make a move for the 23-year-old only if the Premier League blocks Newcastle’s proposed takeover by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.

Saint-Maximin has been superb for the Magpies this season and is very popular among the St. James’ Park faithful.

With Newcastle hoping to embark on a new era and challenge for the European places in the coming years, it is hard to see the prospective new owners cash in on a player who scores goals and creates chances.

According to WhoScored, the 23-year-old has made 19 starts and three substitute appearances in the league for the Magpies so far this season, scoring three goals and providing four assists in the process.
