According to Tuttosport, Fiorentina actually want Tottenham to submit a bid for Dusan Vlahovic, in order to start a bidding war.

What’s the story?

Well, most clubs with a 21-year-old wonderkid on their hands would do everything to fend a side like Tottenham away.

However, Fiorentina are actually inviting Spurs on to Vlahovic, in the hope of making as much money as possible on the Serbia international.

Interestingly, Tuttosport add that Antonio Conte’s arrival at Hotspur Way has increased Tottenham’s chances of signing Vlahovic.

Fiorentina are also hoping for Tottenham to swoop in, as Juventus are also interested in their No.9 and talisman.

Understandably, the Serie A outfit would rather sell Vlahovic – who has ten goals this season – to a Premier League side, rather than a domestic rival.

In that respect, it sounds like Tottenham have a good chance of pulling this deal off.

Tottenham must beat Arsenal to Dusan Vlahovic

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Arsenal have already struck an agreement with Fiorentina over a deal for Vlahovic.

In our view, the Serbian striker has the potential to win a Ballon d’Or one day, while he also looks tailor-made for the Premier League.

If he comes to these shores, we believe he will thrive, so Tottenham simply cannot let him go to Arsenal.

If Vlahovic does join the Gunners, and fires them to silverware with his goals, it would give Arsenal bragging rights over Tottenham.

Even worse, if he fires them to the Premier League title, Arsenal fans will never let it be forgotten that they beat Tottenham to his signature.

For the sake of preventing that alone, Spurs should get bidding.
