According to Gva.be, Leeds United will have to pay more for Noa Lang than what Aston Villa did for Wesley.
It has been reported that Leeds want to sign Lang from Club Brugge in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that the Belgian club want more than the €25 million (£21.73 million) transfer fee that Villa had to pay to sign forward Wesley from them in the summer of 2019.
Leeds’s interest in Lang was first reported by The Telegraph earlier this week. The report claimed that the 21-year-old, who can also operate as a forward, is rated at £20 million, but it seems that the Premier League club will have to pay more than that.
Wesley is recovering from a long-term injury, but when fit and available, the 24-year-old Brazil international was not exactly great.
The forward scored five goals and gave one assist in 21 Premier League matches for Villa last season before his injury.
Of course, Lang could turn out to be a much better buy, especially as he is now only 21 and will improve in the coming years.
However, Leeds should be wary of spending more than €25 million (£21.73 million) on a 21-year-old, especially as they could get someone more established and with more experience if they spend a bit more.
What cannot be denied is Lang’s brilliant form this season. The Dutch attacker has scored 15 goals and provided seven assists in 22 league starts and scored one goal in four Champions League starts.
