Atalanta will reportedly make a move for rumoured Newcastle United target Andrea Belotti if they fail to sign Divock Origi.
According to Calcio Atalanta, the Serie A side are keeping tabs on the Torino striker if they’re unable to secure the signing of the Belgian international in the summer, with Belotti’s deal set to expire at the end of this season.
Atalanta are not alone in their interest in Belotti, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Newcastle are keen on the Italian international, with L’Interista also claiming that Torino were willing to offload their captain in January for €25m (£21m).
With Belotti set to become a free agent this summer, the prolific striker will be one of the names to keep an eye on in the off-season, with numerous clubs keeping tabs on the 28-year-old.
Although the forward has only scored three goals this season, Belotti’s reputation as one of the best finishers in Italy cannot be understated, which is what makes Atalanta’s interest in the striker a major concern for Newcastle.
Indeed, the best-case scenario for the Toon will be if the Bergamo-based club win the race for Origi, which will open the door for Newcastle to swoop in and sign Belotti for free in the summer transfer window.
Newcastle will hope and pray Atalanta pass on Belotti

Belotti is reaching the peak of his career and could be ready for a move to the Premier League, where Newcastle might be an ideal landing spot for the Torino captain, yet the Magpies will be hoping Atalanta pass up on the Serie A star.
It would be a smart move from the Italian club to sign Belotti over Origi, however, for Newcastle, the 28-year-old would be perfect to lead the line next season in what could be an exciting year for the northeast giants.
