Arsenal will reportedly have to pay €25 million (£21.44 million) for Barcelona right-back Emerson Royal.
Goal.com has reported that although Barcelona want Emerson to stay at the club next season, the Spanish giants are open to selling the right-back and are looking for at least €25 million (£21.44 million) as transfer fee.
The report has claimed that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the Brazilian and have made contact.
Mundo Deportivo reported this month that Arsenal scouts are ‘closely monitoring’ the 22-year-old with a view to a possible move in the summer of 2021.
Worth the transfer fee?
If Arsenal are looking for a new right-back this summer, then paying €25 million (£21.44 million) for Emerson would not be a bad idea.
The 22-year-old has been on loan at Real Betis and has not played a single competitive match for Barcelona, but the youngster is rated very highly.
Emerson has been described as a player who is “quick both and off the ball, and has all the flair one would expect of a Brazilian when he has it as his feet” on Barcelona’s official website and is said to have “a tremendous shot from long range”.
According to WhoScored, the young right-back has scored one goal and provided four assists in 24 La Liga matches for Betis so far this season.
