Arsenal’s demands for Matteo Guendouzi have left Marseille stunned in the negotiation process, Le 10 Sport say.

Arsenal are willing to let Guendouzi leave this summer, and Marseille are the most interested party.

However, the Gunners are said to be demanding far more than the French club thought.

While Marseille haven’t given up hope of landing the central midfielder yet, they realise that work most be done if they are to meet Arsenal’s asking price, which is higher than expected.

The report doesn’t specify what Arsenal are demanding, but it does say that the figure is far more than £8.5 million.

Is that really overpriced?

While that could make Guendouzi a relatively expensive purchase for Marseille, Arsenal’s demands don’t actually seem particularly unreasonable.

Guendouzi may have fallen out of favour at the Emirates Stadium recently, but he has previously shown potential and at the age of 22 he still has room to develop.

Arsenal also need to raise funds for their own additions, with a bid of £30 million for Emiliano Buendia being submitted recently (The Sun), and Edu’s need to get a fair value for their players is obvious, as he looks to mastermind their transfer moves this summer.
