According to L’Equipe, Lyon have identified reported Leicester City and Everton target Merih Demiral as a summer transfer target.

The Juventus central defender has been linked with a move away from Turin.

The Leicester Mercury claim Leicester are big admirers of Demiral. The Foxes will look to strengthen ahead of a likely Champions League campaign next season.

Everton, meanwhile, have been cited as suitors by Tuttosport.

But the Premier League duo seemingly face stern competition for his signature.

Demiral has made just seven club appearances for Juve this season. However, despite his lack of game-time, the 22-year-old has impressed.

Mircea Lucescu, who handed Demiral his Turkish debut, feels the defender can replace Juventus favourite Giorgio Chiellini in the future, telling TuttoJuve:

“If so many teams want him it means that everyone recognises his great qualities. Demiral is a good player, an excellent professional, and the hope is that he will return stronger than before. He can have a great future. He will be the worthy heir of Chiellini.”

His lack of game-time, however, has placed question marks over his future.

L’Equipe claim Lyon have made him a summer transfer target. If Leicester and Everton are serious, they may have to make their move soon.

Demiral is rated at £34 million as reported by Calciomercato

Everton must look at strengthening their defence this summer after the Toffees conceded 46 Premier League goals prior to the Covid-19 suspension.

Demiral is at a good age and has plenty of potential.
