According to Voetbal Krant, Rangers have agreed a deal with Royal Antwerp which will see Zeb Jacobs join Giovanni van Bronckhorst in 2022.
What’s the story?
Well, this sounds like good news for Rangers, as Voetbal Krant describe the 26-year-old’s exit as a huge loss for Belgian football, not just Royal Antwerp.
Jacobs will move to Ibrox on January 2nd 2022, where he will help develop young players at the club and mould them into first-team quality.
Voetbal Krant describe the deal as ‘all set’ to go through, so it doesn’t seem as if there are any creases which need to be ironed out.
Rangers have their man, and he’s a key figure by the sound of it.
Aside from Van Bronckhorst, Jacobs will join Arno Phillps, Roy Makaay and Yori Bosschart in Glasgow, as Rangers look to move on from Steven Gerrard.
The Bears are currently four points clear of Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership after 13 games – hopefully, it stays that way.
Zeb Jacobs is a huge coup for Rangers

It would be telling for Voetbal Krant to merely describe Jacobs as a big loss for Royal Antwerp.
However, the fact he’s being described as a huge loss for the entirety of Belgium should speak volumes to Rangers supporters.
What makes this news interesting is that Belgium have brought through a number of massive talents in recent years.

The likes of Jeremy Doku and Albert Sambi Lokonga have shone, while 20-year-old Charles De Ketelaere looks like another gem off the production line.
If Jacobs can help Rangers produce players of similar quality, Ange Postecoglou and Celtic should be quaking in their boots.
