According to Milan News 24, AC Milan remain strongly interested in signing Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer, and could table a bid worth €30 million (£27 million).

The Italian giants were interested in signing the Norway international back in the summer, although no move came to fruition for the towering centre-back.

Milan News 24‘s report states that the next Europa League fixture between the two clubs, which falls on December 3rd, could be a perfect opportunity to resume negotiations over Ajer.

While the report mentions that Paolo Maldini – AC Milan legend and also their Sporting Director – is a huge fan of the player, it also states that sales might need to be made before a bid can be submitted.

Ajer has made 17 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring one goal while assisting one more.

Lennon surely won’t want to lose the Rælingen-born defender, although £27 million is a lot of money and would help the Hoops potentially add some more quality to their squad.

It remains to be seen what happens, but it sounds as if the Serie A giants aren’t giving up their pursuit of Ajer anytime soon.

Keep an eye on this saga in the January transfer window.
