Italian outlet CM claim that Galatasaray have stepped forward ‘immediately’ to sign Roberto Firmino amid news that the Brazilian would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season – with the Turkish club happy to pay his Reds wages.

Firmino, 31, is out of contract at the end of the season and numerous reports state that he and Jurgen Klopp have been in talks regarding his future. It is now claimed that he will not be signing a new deal, leaving on a free transfer.

The signings of Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo in the last couple of windows will have contributed to Firmino leaving. But on a free, he is not going to be short of suitors. Indeed, CM claim a club has come forward for Firmino already.

Indeed, SuperLig giants Galatasaray are said to have enquired immediately after the news broke. They are willing to match his current Liverpool wages, which equate to £9million a year – or £173,000 a week. His stance is unknown.

The report claims that having shown interest in the past, Inter Milan and Juventus could also look to sign Firmino. But with Juve unlikely to be in the Champions League after a points deduction, Inter are likely to have more of a chance.

Galatasaray step forward immediately to sign Liverpool ace Firmino

Firmino has a decision to make. He is still only 31 and there is life left in the Liverpool ace. His 13 goals and assists in 25 games this season – only 16 of which have been from the start – show he can still do it in one of Europe’s top five.

So, a move to Italy would probably be preferred by Firmino. A move to Galatasaray is something he should consider further on in his career. However, he would become one of the SuperLig’s best – and the wages on offer are massive.
