According to The Daily Mail, Zenit Saint Petersburg are interested in signing Dejan Lovren from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that the Russian Premier League club are ready to offer £9 million for the Croatia international central defender.

The report has claimed that the former Southampton star is open to leaving the Reds for Zenit this summer in search of regular playing time.

However, according to the report, Liverpool are likely to turn down any offer from Zenit and will likely demand £15 million for the 31-year-old, with the Reds having to sign a new defender should he leave.

Leaving Liverpool

Lovren is essentially a back-up defender at Liverpool at the moment, and given how good Joe Gomez is, it is unlikely that the former Lyon star will be able to play week in and week out for the Reds next season.

Having won the Champions League and the Premier League with the Merseyside club, it may not be a bad time for the defender to part company and find a new home.
