Brighton and Hove Albion privately believe that Arsenal target Yves Bissouma will leave, according to The Sun.
The Sun has reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Bissouma from Premier League rivals Brighton in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is desperate to bring the Mali international to the Emirates Stadium, according to the report.
It has been further claimed that although Brighton manager Graham Potter has publicly said that the 24-year-old will stay, the Seagulls privately know that there is little that they can do to stop the former Lille star from leaving, especially if they get a bid of £40 million.
Bissouma is one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League outside the ‘Big Six’.
The 24-year-old has done enough at Brighton since 2018 to merit a move to a bigger and more ambitious club.
Bissouma would compliment Thomas Partey well in the middle of the park for Arsenal.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa worked with the 24-year-old when they were at Lille, and he rates him really highly.
Bielsa told Leeds Live in April 2021: “Was a great player and confirmed it. It’s not the same to have potential and to show it. When I had the chance to work with him he had a lot of resources and here he has shown them completely. He has gained recognition due to his resources.”
Bielsa knows a quality player when he sees one, and the Leeds boss’s comments should encourage the Arsenal fans.
The Gunners need a player like Bissouma who is at the right age to take the next step in his career and knows the Premier League well.
The Brighton star would be able to make an immediate impact at Arsenal.
