Real Betis are interested in signing Hector Bellerin from Arsenal in the summer transfer window, according to ABC Sevilla.

It has been reported that Betis are planning to hold talks with Arsenal over the transfer of Bellerin shortly.

The Spanish club reportedly want to do a loan deal with a buy option as they cannot afford to pay what Arsenal want for the Spain international right-back.

However, according to the report, Betis are hopeful that Bellerin’s desire to go back to Spain would help them get a deal done.

Would such a loan-to-buy deal help Arsenal?

Probably not.

True, a loan deal would see Arsenal get Bellerin’s wages off their books, but the Gunners would not get any transfer fee.

If the North London club want to bring in a replacement for Bellerin, then they need money.

Selling the defender would get Arsenal the funds to invest in another right-back.

Now, Bellerin may want to go back to Spain, but it is up to Arsenal to decide whether or not to let him go.

Arsenal are unlikely to force Bellerin – or any other player, for that matter – to stay despite his willingness to leave, but the Gunners will not do a deal that is not in their favour.
