The Tottenham Hotspur-linked head of recruitment Luis Campos has asked to be released from his Lille contract, according to The Daily Record.
The newspaper claims that Campos – who worked with the Tottenham manager, Jose Mourinho, at Real Madrid – has decided to leave after ‘a series of disagreements over the club’s summer transfer business’.
And leading clubs in England, Italy and Spain are said to have been ‘made aware of his availability’.
Whether or not Tottenham will act on the alleged development remains to be seen, although Mourinho ‘has been keen to involve Campos in Spurs’ recruitment’, according to The Daily Record.
Roma appear to have made the first move, however, with the newspaper adding the Italians have ‘offered the 56-year-old a position’.
It also notes that Mourinho recommended Campos to his then Manchester United chief executive, Ed Woodward, only to be ignored.
Campos is reported to have made Lille more than €350 million (around £317m) in transfer fees since 2017, with Victor Osimhen and Gabriel Magalhaes his latest big sales.
