Report: Club now waiting for offers on £18m star, after West Ham emerge as favourites

Juventus are waiting to see what offers come in for West Ham target Daniele Rugani, Gianluca Di Marzio suggests.

Valencia have just seen a bid turned down for Rugani, which offers hope to West Ham that they will still be able to sign the Italian.

Alfredo Pedulla claimed earlier this week that West Ham are leading the race for the Juve defender, but it seems that the Hammers have plenty of competition.

Valencia have now made the first move to sign Rugani, but they have quickly fallen at the first hurdle, with Juventus deeming their offer to be unacceptable.

Di Marzio now claims that Juve are prepared to be patient, as they see if any offers will come in which are more valuable to them than Valencia’s.

It remains to be seen if West Ham will now push to sign the Italian, with David Moyes seemingly determined to strengthen his defence.

West Ham seem to have missed out on James Tarkowski, and are now searching for alternative targets before deadline day.

And Rugani could be a strong option, despite his lack of Premier League experience.

The £18 million-rated centre-back (Alfredo Pedulla) is considered to be one of the better defenders in Serie A, despite his lack of game time recently, and he could help to add competition for Angelo Ogbonna’s and Issa Diop’s places at the back.
